EPISODE 1.3 – ENLIGHTENMENT WEEKLY UPDATES

Going the extra mile is the difference between being average versus being the one of the top Celebrities | Musicians | Performers and Businessmen in the world.

As a business owner I can tell you it’s frustrating to see employees drop everything as soon as the clock says its quitting time versus taking an extra few minutes to properly close things up. Surely – it’s very important.

HOW TO GO THE EXTRA MILE IN SERVICE

√ Look out for additional tasks to handle

Always be on the lookout for more work, or additional tasks. Once you have completed the tasks that have been assigned to you, not only ask if there is anything else you can do, see if you can find jobs yourself.

It may take a couple of weeks to determine if it is appropriate to take it upon yourself to help out with additional tasks, but more often than not, your supervisor will be impressed with your ability to take initiative.

√ Be willing all the way

Always be willing to improve. The best way to improve is by asking for feedback. Arrange a weekly meeting with your supervisor to discuss areas you could improve or develop in. This will show them that you are determined to succeed which is an impressive trait.

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT GOING THE EXTRA MILE

According to the Scriptures – Matthew 5:41 is the forty-first verse of the fifth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament and is part of the Sermon on the Mount. This is the third verse of the antithesis on the commandment: “Eye for an eye”.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you. [Matthew 5:38-42]
